The Official Airport Assistance Network of the World Airports
One of the largest duty free shopping areas in Russia is at Sheremetyevo, especially in Terminals C and D. The primary duty-free areas are in international departure areas, post-passport control, with large walk-through duty free shops leading to gates.
High-end beauty companies like Chanel, Dior, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clarins, Shiseido and Clinique have a strong presence in the duty free shuttle. Sightseers seeking a variety of skin care, high end perfumes, or cosmetic gift baskets will find a range that's similar to major European cities.
There are long sections on spirits and tobacco. The premium Russian vodka brands are found between the international vodka brands like Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal, Hennessy, Glenfiddich, Jameson and Moët & Chandon. Russian vodka gift packs and specialty drinks made locally that are hard to find in foreign countries are frequently bought by travelers.
The confectionery area is a favourite place for transit passengers. Excellent chocolates by the Lindt, Toblerone, Ferrero Rocher, Ritter Sport and Russian sweets from around the area are all packaged for international travel.
Fashion and accessories shops have brands such as Swarovski, Ray-Ban, Michael Kors, Furla, Longchamp and other luxury watch shops. Layovers are a popular time for travelers to shop for gifts, sunglasses, and luggage.
One of the handy things is that there are Russian souvenirs and gourmet products. Authentic local purchases, such as caviar, Russian chocolates, traditional nesting dolls, lacquer boxes, tea collections, and high-quality gift items are available without leaving the airport.
Traveler Tip: If you're prepared to try Russian caviar or top-notch vodka, shop around in several different duty-free areas before you buy. Various terminal stores sometimes feature various packaging and promotional bundles.
The biggest duty free zones are found in the international departure lounges of Terminals C and D and offer travellers an opportunity to pick up luxury beauty products, top quality spirits, Russian souvenirs, gourmet gifts, chocolates, travel accessories, and international fashion brands. It is one of the best airport retail offers in the Eastern European region.
Sheremetyevo has a variety of Russian restaurant ideas and international restaurant chains. Visitors can find specialty coffees and pastries and even full-service restaurants, burgers and traditional Russian fare. The majority of main restaurant outlet is located post security.
Various high-class lounges are in operation in the airport, such as the one belonging to Aeroflot. They are typically equipped with such features as buffet meals, showers, Internet access, workstations, charging stations and quiet areas.
However, the fastest way from Sheremetyevo to central Moscow is by train, using the Aeroexpress service. Taxis and ride-hailing are widely available; however, there may be a lot of road traffic during rush hours. Rental car services are available from the airport for those who will be traveling by car to their destinations.
Throughout the terminals, there are currency exchange counters, ATMs, pharmacies, SIM card vendors, baggage and information desks. Most of the key services should be available to travelers arriving from overseas prior to leaving the airport.
